We are supreme....
Am I the only one tired of seeing a version of this story trotted out, say, every other day?
WASHINGTON (AP) - The United States declared air supremacy over all of Iraq on Tuesday, asserting its warplanes can fly anywhere with impunity, even though an Air Force attack plane was shot down near Baghdad.

What I'd like to know is, when since Gulf War I has the U.S. not been in control of the skies over Iraq? I mean, considering an attack plane was just shot down near Baghdad, are we less in control now than during the 12+ years since the last war? Or were the planes shot down then simply not reported?

Whole story here.
